Top City Dogs is a small, veteran owned operation run by husband and wife team Tyler and Kali Mitchin out of our ranch home in northern Topeka, KS. We pride ourselves in our ability to provide elite-quality services for both dogs and their humans in a personable, quiet, low-stress environment where we can truly foster an atmosphere for effective listening and learning.
With over a decade of experience training and handling dogs in specialty venues such as Schutzund/IGP, Conformation, Rally, Competitive Obedience, Scentwork, Tracking, Protection, Trick Dog Certifications, Dock Diving, Agility, Service Dog Training and more, Kali has devoted countless hours studying behavior and training techniques in order to achieve a lengthy list of personal accomplishments and now helps others make and reach their own goals.

LOOK OUT OZ, HERE WE COME!
The TCD team initially arrived in Topeka on military PCS orders in June of 2017, and after falling in love with Kansas have decided to make it their permanent home. Kali, originally a Cleveland, OH native and currently an active duty E-5 in the US Coast Guard, will be finishing out her 20 year military career as a drilling reservist in order to devote her full attention to her passion of helping people build better relationships with their dogs in her community.
Always a scholar and never knowing "enough", Kali has continued to advance her education and credentials since arriving in Kansas. She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and attends seminars annually to increase her own knowledge and understanding of new techniques and scientific advances in behavior modification.
LOCAL FRIENDS & FOREVER CONNECTIONS
Many Topekan's recognize Kali from her 3 years of working at Camo Cross Dog Training as a Scentwork group class instructor. Kali officially stepped away from Camo Cross in the fall of 2022 when Top City Dogs launched to the public, but Camo Cross Owner Kelli Baush (CPDT) has been an excellent friend and mentor and they still often collaborate together on projects and training courses. They encourage their shared clients to utilize each other’s various services and both are good friends, excellent trainers, and are always happy to share the love!
