Top City Dogs is a small, veteran-owned business operated by husband-and-wife team from their ranch home near Topeka, Kansas. TCD specializes in providing elite-quality training and handling services for both dogs and their owners in a quiet, low-stress environment. Our personalized approach allows us to foster clear communication, effective learning, and lasting results.
With over a decade of experience training and handling dogs across a wide range of disciplines—including Schutzhund/IGP, Conformation, Rally, Competitive Obedience, Scent Work, Tracking, Protection, Trick Dog certifications, Dock Diving, Agility, and Service Dog training—Kali has dedicated countless hours to studying canine behavior and modern training techniques. Through a strong foundation of hands-on experience and continued education, she has achieved numerous personal accomplishments and now helps clients set meaningful goals and confidently reach them with their dogs.

The TCD team arrived in Topeka on military PCS orders in June of 2017 and quickly fell in love with Kansas, ultimately deciding to make it their permanent home. Kali, originally from Cleveland, Ohio, is an active-duty E-5 in the U.S. Coast Guard and will complete her 20-year military career as a drilling reservist. This transition allows her to devote her full professional focus to her passion for helping people build stronger, healthier relationships with their dogs within the local community.
A lifelong student who believes there is always more to learn, Kali has continued to advance her education and professional credentials since relocating to Kansas. She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and attends seminars annually to stay current on evolving training methodologies, scientific research, and advancements in behavior modification.
Local Friends & Forever Connections
Many Topeka residents recognize Kali from her three years at Camo Cross Dog Training, where she served as a Scent Work group class instructor. She officially stepped away from Camo Cross in the fall of 2022 when Top City Dogs launched to the public. Camo Cross owner Kelli Bausch CPDT, has remained a close friend and trusted mentor, and the two continue to collaborate on projects and training courses.
Both trainers actively encourage shared clients to take advantage of each other’s services, maintaining a strong professional partnership built on mutual respect. They value collaboration over competition and are always happy to support one another in providing high-quality training to the local dog community.
